RPF was established in memory of Ray, a NYC firefighter who died in 2017 from 9/11 related cancer.
He was a leading force in lobbying to extend the Zadroga Act through 2090, ensuring health care
coverage for thousands of people who need or will need treatment for health conditions as a
direct result of 9/11 exposure.
In 2019, the "Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization
of the September 11 Victim Compensation Act" was passed to provide financial support for 9/11 responders, survivors and their families.
